Question:
My derm said that while on accutane i shouldn’t get any plastic surgery because scars wouldn’t heal as well. Does anyone know if it would be a bad idea to get a tattoo or pierced while on accutane? I can’t find anything on scars in any side effects that I’ve read. Thanks in advance. Belisha B Having is not so pleasing a thing as wanting….

Not to change the subject, but, what German ones that last 5 years? I haven’t heard of this but it sounds very interesting. — ICQ #65462049 "The further the spiritual evolution of mankind advances, the more certain it seems to me that the path to genuine religiosity does not lie through the fear of life, and the fear of death, and blind faith, but through striving after rational knowledge." – Albert Einstein (1879-1955) "The happiest of people don’t necessarily have the best of everything, they just make the most of everything that comes along their way."
Response:
Probably because when you are taking accutane, your skin doesn’t heel very fast… big cuts will scar.

They’re tatoos that originated from Germany. You get one as normal, but the ink disintegrates and fades between 3-5 years. Cool eh?

Very. So were does one obtain this type of tattoo? Is it a special ink that tattooists have? — ICQ #65462049 "The further the spiritual evolution of mankind advances, the more certain it seems to me that the path to genuine religiosity does not lie through the fear of life, and the fear of death, and blind faith, but through striving after rational knowledge." – Albert Einstein (1879-1955) "The happiest of people don’t necessarily have the best of everything, they just make the most of everything that comes along their way."

Would it be OK to get a tattoo while taking Accutane? While I am at it, would ear piercing be OK? Thanks Darren

Huge risk here Darren. Accutane can effect the way your skin heals. This usually involves a slow healing process or the development of large keloid scars on the skin. An ear piercing and tatoo is basically asking for this reaction while on accutane. I would wait quite awhile after finishing the accutane to get both of these done. Your chocie though!! -James
